SOCIOL 101IS - RACE RELATIONS IN MODERN SOUTH
The effects of law on racial dynamics, the changing meaning of race in popular and policy discourse, and the impact of recent immigration, particularly Latino immigration, on historical patterns of Southern race relations. Issues addressed through critical reading of a set of historical monographs and the analysis of primary data on racial inequality, racial segregation and racial collective violence.
