SOCIOL 168 - BUSINESS/POLIT IN AMER SOCIETY
The impact of business on American politics. Theories of political pluralism, state autonomy, capitalist imperatives, and elite domination; sources of corporate political community including shared interest, social class, and interlocking directives; a venues of influence including campaign contributions, lobbying, think tanks, advisory boards, and social networks. Development of research skill through team-based projects. Discussion and debate of ethical implications for business and policy leaders of the future. Instructor: Staff
